COLLABORATIVE SPECIFICATION SYSTEM

The Basis:

The Collaborative Specification System was designed to optimize the probability that manufacturers’ products are included in job specs and are the correct product for the application.

The Problem:

Manufacturers have products that the end users need for specific applications in jobs, but are unable to be specified for those jobs because they are either unaware of the present opportunity or are not in a position to be specified or acknowledged by that end user.

The old mindset was to create brand awareness by traditional advertising (magazine ads, banner ads) and other outdated methods to introduce new products to the market and to generate new business with established products.

The fact is that the individuals responsible for compiling specs and designing jobs rarely would use products that were advertised to them via these traditional means. These facts were concluded from our extensive research within the industry as well as personal experience.

A/E/C’s and specifiers need a simple solution to find specific products and need to be able to quickly sift through formatted information to determine if the product addresses their needs.

Manufacturers need a way to keep updated product information consistently in front of the end users to be in the optimum position to be specified.

The Solution:

Through our research we identified the gaps that prevent the industry professionals from specifying or using specific products.

After compiling the data, we have put in place the most comprehensive plan to put our clients in the most favorable position to be specified on upcoming projects. We have identified and became affiliated with companies that as a system, put our clients in a position to be specified. Construction Specs has also designed specific products to fill gaps that have always existed in the industry.

Our goal is to ensure the manufacturers who are part of our Collaborative Specification System are in a more favorable position to be specified than their competitors. But we also address the concerns of the end users by making sure the data is consistently updated and is available in a standard format that was developed based on the needs of the end users.
