Green Building Programs; 2007 and Now
The article found on the AIA’s website lays out the findings of a report done in 2007. If there is anyone left that does not see the green push as something that is here to stay, this article will probably be the last nail in the coffin to put the argument to sleep. The findings by the AIA are case in point as to the results of the green buildings programs in cities across the country.
Since the survey was commissioned in 2007, 50% more metropolitan cities have adopted green building programs and virtually every major metropolitan city has some green building program.
We felt the significance of this article resonates with both our manufacturers and our end users because the important statistics found in this article spell out the future of building. The building products industry has had a small lean towards the green future, but with more and more cities enacting policies to be more environmentally friendly, that lean has turned into a full slant in that direction.
